What do our
services include?
What materials can we work with?
The materials we can work with and usually work with are very diverse, we work with expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene, wood, MDF, PVC, methacrylate, glass or crystal, sheet metal, steel, aluminum, plastic polymer, ceramic tiles, and others like plywood.
What is polystyrene? The main material we work with.
Expanded polystyrene is a thermoplastic foam consisting of a set of closed-cell particles closely bonded to each other. In the transformation, the raw material is subjected to the action of water vapor, so that the small expandable polystyrene beads increase their volume up to 50 times, trapping a large amount of air inside. It is the trapped air that provides expanded polystyrene products with their excellent qualities such as thermal insulation and inert material.
After all, it is the material in which refrigerators, washing machines, or televisions are wrapped, but with much more density… That is, if the beads that form the polystyrene to cover the aforementioned appliances have a diameter of 6-8 millimeters corresponding to a density of 15-20 kg/m³. In our material, the bead is barely 2 mm, corresponding to a density of 35 kg/m³, the highest manufactured in Spain for this material.
Advantages:
High Thermal Insulation.
Great Mechanical Resistance.
Very high dimensional stability with high or low temperature.
No alterations against water, heat, or ice.
Ease of handling.
Very lightweight material.
Inert material.
Odorless, non-toxic.
Ease of repair.
Protected from the sun, it remains unchanged over time, it is a much longer-lasting and stable material than many currently used in construction.
What are the pieces or moldings made of?
Our moldings are made from different materials depending on their purpose or final use. If they are cornices or pieces for facades, they are usually made from high-density expanded polystyrene. If they are complex pieces like Corinthian capitals, or special heritage restorations, they can be made from plastic polymer, both of which are suitable for exterior installation without any problem. We can also work with wood and other materials for interior.
It has the regulation in the area of this website with the same name.
Can I use the pieces outdoors?
Yes, you can use any polystyrene piece outdoors, but they must be coated on-site with our moldurroc® resin. This resin is used for coating and also for attaching polystyrene to the surface.
Regulation requires applying three coats over the piece, these coats are applied with a brush as if it were paint, although it is thicker. It has the form of use and application in this section to download.
Can we provide finished, treated, or painted pieces?
No, in our factory, the pieces come completely raw, they are not treated or painted; this is always done by the installer or placer. This way, the installation has a better finish, as the joints are finished while they are being mounted… although if you wish, we can advise you on this.
What work can we perform?
We can manufacture practically anything, from cornices, sculptures, ornaments, Holy Week steps, tile murals, restorations, heritage, theme parks, interior design, signage, or any type of ornament you need.
